Tommi Parzinger Pink Leather & Mahogany Secretary for Charak Modern, circa 1950Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Exquisitely designed secretary bureau by Tommi Parzinger for Charak Modern. This elegantly executed piece is fabricated from pickled mahogany with tooled leather in a color that falls somewhere between pink and rose cupboard doors punctuated by brass medallion-style hardware. The secretaire opens by the use of inserting the key provided in to the ornate escutcheon to pull down a desktop which reveals shelves and compartments for storing stationery, documents and writing implements, as well as stashing the modern paraphernalia such as phone chargers and headphones. Below the writing desk is a drawer which has been lined with rich green velvet and has three partitions for additional storage needs. The Charak modern manufacturer's label can be found by gently pulling away the corner of the velvet, as is shown in the photo gallery. When the red tooled leather doors are opened they reveal a single shelf with plenty of space.
This eye-catching piece would be a great addition as part of a classic, contemporary or Mid-Century Modern entry, living room, dining room den, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an Apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium.
