Mastercraft Burled Wood and Brass Credenza by William Doezema, circa 1960Automaton Vintage Furnishings
This Asian inspired credenza by William Doezema for Mastercraft features a burl wood finish with brass cylindrical legs running the length of the cabinet from under the top down to the floor. There are two sets of double doors with centrally placed ornate brass pulls affixed with a backplate and also decorated with curved brass arches. When opened, on the left side of the sideboard are four slim drawers with brass Campaign style hardware and on the right side is a single shelf with ample storage space. This ornate console would make for an elegant bar, optimal for stowing a cache of spirits and glassware.
This eye-catching piece would be a great addition as part of a Classic, contemporary, Art Deco, chinoiserie, or Mid-Century Modern living room, dining room, entry, hall, den, man (or woman!) cave, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an Apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium.
