Kipp Stewart Declaration Highboy Set for Drexel, Newly Restored, circa 1950Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Exceptional Mid-Century Modern tallboy designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart McDougall as part of the Declaration line for Drexel furniture. Fabricated from veneered walnut with striking wood grain and dovetail drawers this beautiful tallboy has been newly restored and refinished with a rich stain and retains the original porcelain hardware that Stewart's pieces were known for.
The highboy features a flip-top vanity on the right side that can be accessed by pulling out the top drawer which is found behind the main cabinet door. Once the drawer is fully extended the top can be flipped up to reveal the original mirror and compartments within the drawers for storing jewelry, make-up, ties or cuff-links.
The recent restoration of this highboy breathes new life into this piece, making it as relevant and functional today as in the 1950s. This piece is ideal for a Classic or contemporary dining room, living room, den, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an Apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium.
