George Nelson for Herman Miller Cabinet Dresser, Signed, circa 1950Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Designed by George Nelson, this dresser or credenza was part of Herman Miller's collection of modular basic storage components. This cabinet has been newly refinished and features beautiful wood grain which displays fluid movement and variation in tone. This cabinet offers ample room for storage, with four dovetailed drawers, the top and the bottom both having partitions for organizing and also a single shelved cabinet. The chest is punctuated with the original chrome plated hardware and the original foil Herman Miller label is present inside the top drawer. This piece would also serve as an excellent bar option, with space to store and display bottles, as well as being a fantastic option for a TV stand or media cabinet.
This piece would be a great addition as part of a classic, contemporary or mid-century modern dining room, living room, den, man (or woman!) cave, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium.
