Distressed Bird Chairs by Preben Fabricius & Jørgen Kastholm for Alfred Kill IntAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
Three incredibly beautiful heavily distressed leather Model FK 6727, 'Bird' chairs, also commonly referred to as a 'Tulip' chair, designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm, manufactured in Germany by Alfred Kill International, circa 1960. Priced individually, we invite you to submit an offer if you wish to purchase more than one.
These gorgeous bucket arm chairs are fabricated from a fiberglass shell which is encased with its original brown leather covers. The original leather covers posses heavy distressing and years of natural age and wear. To preserve this incredible look - we expertly restored the areas that were needed, including leather repair and reinforcement so that the age and beauty of the chairs could be preserved indefinitely. Reinforcement to the leather was applied invisibly underneath the leather so that to the viewer - it is unnoticeable.
These desk chairs sit atop a chromed three-star base, which was a signature of the designer duo's work. We have other bases from the same line available and since they are all interchangeable with the chair tops - contact us if you would like the 3-star base to be swapped with a 5-star base on casters to be used as a desk or office chair.
These 'Bird' chairs would be a perfect addition to any design lovers interior concept. They would look commanding in any office or study as well as being an option for an accent chair in living room, den or games room. They would also work well in a hospitality or corporate location, such as a private members club, executive office, creative space or hotel lobby check in area to create a design magazine worthy look.
If you purchase one or two chairs from this set, we can send you pictures of each chair so you can decide which of the artistically distressed leathers that connects with you the most.
