*SOLD* Blue Leather and Rosewood Eames Lounge Chair 670 for Herman Miller, circa 1960Automaton Vintage Furnishings
A rare early production find indeed, this Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller Model 670 lounge chair with Brazilian rosewood and vibrant azure blue leather, which was a rare special order option in the early 1960s. Circular black Herman Miller medallion located underneath the chair - accompanied with the Herman Miller address label that pre-dates the use of zip codes (which started in 1963).
The Brazilian rosewood shells are in excellent original condition and supported by a five star aluminum and black base sitting on top of "Domes of Silence" foot glides. Inside the incredibly stylish blue leather cushions are down-filled. This Eames lounge chair has a built-in swivel mechanism, ideal for the person seated to divert their conversation or focus where appropriate.
This highly unique color combination of cobalt blue and Brazilian Rosewood would be perfect for someone in the creative and design industry or someone in the fashion industry, or due to its rarity - it is a highly collectible item for the distinguished collector who wants only the best. Alternatively, this would be a perfect modern piece to place into an otherwise contemporary home as the color combination allows greater flexibility than other standard Eames Lounges.
