Black Marble, Bronze and Walnut French Art Deco Credenza by Gaston PoissonAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
Grand, stately looking, custom French Art Deco credenza by Gaston Poisson crafted from walnut, bronze and black marble, which excellently examples skilled craftsmanship and exuded opulence of that era.
Fabricated of rich hued walnut, the outer doors display a row of three dimensional handcrafted square reliefs, the inner doors have a sequence of varying sized lines, while the base features formative details, almost Brutalist in style, that reflect the square panels above.
Each end of the piece has a sturdy plinth base and the middle portion of the surface exhibits a stunning piece of black marble with white veining. To adorn the credenza is matte bronze hardware which can be locked, bronze key is included and seen in the photos. With multiple shelving options this item provides Apt storage solutions for a variety of uses.
This exceptional credenza would suit a number of residential uses, such as; an entryway console table, living room media cabinet, sideboard buffet or bar for a dining room, storage in a study, library or den to display art or sculptures. For hospitality or corporate options it would look exquisite in a hotel lobby or restaurant, wine bar, cocktail lounge, executive office or conference room.
Would pair wonderfully in a room with Art Deco designs from Andre Arbus, Jules Leleu, Donald Deskey and Maxime Old.
Restored vintage condition. This credenza is quite old so even after restoration there are signs of age, which do add to it's allure and beauty, however for more detailed information please contact us for a full report.
